How Email Smith works
Skim this once and you know the whole tool.
1. Start two ways
Pick a layout from the template gallery, or answer five quick questions and we score every template against your answers and open the best fit. In the gallery, flip “Show as ready-to-send examples” to see and open each template filled with demo copy and photos, or start from a blank canvas.
2. Build with blocks
Add rows, images, buttons, spacers, dividers, footers and social rows from the left panel — or drag one straight onto the canvas to drop it exactly where you want.
3. Drag, resize, merge
Grab a block to reorder it. Drop it on the top or bottom edge of another block to insert a row; drop it on the left or right edge to place it side by side as a new column (up to four). Drag the divider between columns to set their widths — content always wraps inside its column — and use the Settings panel to align a column's content to the top, middle or bottom of the row.
4. Write and format
Click any text on the canvas and type. Select part of a line and use ⌘/Ctrl + B, I or U to bold, italicise or underline just that part. Enter makes a clean line break. Colour, font and size stay in the right-hand Settings panel.
5. An email-safe canvas
The canvas is locked to 600px of content inside a 640px frame. That is the width every mail app agrees on, so what you build looks the same in Outlook, Gmail and Apple Mail. It scales to fit your screen but never changes size in the email itself.
6. Transfer to Email
One click copies the finished email to your clipboard as real formatted HTML, with a plain-text version alongside it. Open Gmail or Outlook, hit paste, send. Images you upload travel inside the email, so they still show after pasting.
Favorites save layout only
Saving a layout stores structure, spacing and colours — nothing else. Your wording and your images are never sent or stored, so reopening a saved layout gives you the shape back with empty text and empty image slots.
